A lot of consumers argue that an edible image has no taste at all. The artwork is printed on edible paper, also referred to as sugar sheets, using edible ink cartridges that are etched into a special printer designed specifically for gastronomic purposes. These pages were originally constructed from rice paper and are usually composed of several types of sugar.
The panels have a firmer consistency when they are printed, but after the buttercream is applied, they become softer and nearly textureless. The paper appears smooth, as though it was painted directly on top of the cake, thanks to the icing’s moisturizing effect.
The edible image will retain most of its original texture if your cake is covered in fondant, but it will be extremely malleable and can be shaped to fit around both smooth and jagged edges.
